Roslyn 1823

Roslyn 1823 is a nearly 200-year-old homestead and one of Tasmania’s oldest heritage-listed estates. Nestled in the picturesque Coal River Valley, the Georgian-style building is constructed entirely of convict bricks and features a unique tower that has become a striking landmark. Once home to thriving agricultural activity and brickmaking for nearby historic Richmond, today Roslyn is home to Tasmania’s only permaculture vineyard.

This family-run vineyard works in harmony with nature, fostering biodiversity and regenerative farming practices. Premium hand-picked grapes are transformed into boutique cool-climate wines that reflect both the terroir and the estate’s deep history. Visitors can enjoy private tours for up to eight guests, guided by the owner. Each tour includes an introduction to the vines, insights into permaculture winemaking, and an exclusive tasting of three wines of your choice.
The cellar door, set within the historic homestead, is among the oldest in Australia. Guests can relax in original rooms such as the cobblestoned stables, smoke room, or parlour, while sipping elegant wines that embody two centuries of heritage.
Roslyn 1823 is more than a vineyard; it is a living story of history, sustainability, and taste.
