Island Berries Tasmania
Island Berries Tasmania has been crafting premium fruit products since 1998, when chef Andre Richardson first began selling his handmade Summer Berry Pudding at Salamanca Market. What started as a small venture has grown into one of Tasmania’s most celebrated producers of jams, fruit pastes, sauces and desserts, with a reputation built on freshness, quality and community.
Only the finest ingredients go into every product, with fruit sourced wherever possible from Tasmanian growers. From rich dessert sauces and panna cottas to savoury chutneys and relishes under the Tasmanian Gourmet Kitchen label, Island Berries showcases the best of local produce. Their award-winning creations, such as Bill’s Beetroot Marmalade and Caroline’s Caramelised Onion, are well known to customers across Australia.
Based in Cambridge in southern Tasmania, the business also collaborates with other Tasmanian brands, creating fruit mixes for Valhalla and VDL ice creams, Westhaven yoghurts and even whisky-inspired sauces for Hobart Whisky Co. With more than 40 national prizes, Island Berries Tasmania has earned recognition for both flavour and innovation.
At its core, Island Berries is more than just a food producer. It represents the land, the seasons and the community that supports it. Each jar and bottle captures the essence of Tasmania, offering a taste of place and the passion of the people who make it.
