Caledon Estate
Caledon Estate is a family-owned, single-site vineyard crafted high on the slopes of the Coal River Valley near Hobart. Surrounded by gum trees and overlooking the historic village of Richmond, this boutique vineyard produces outstanding cool-climate wines that reflect the beauty and character of their panoramic setting.
Every bottle of Caledon wine is proudly grown and made onsite in lutruwita/Tasmania. The vineyard champions small-scale, hands-on winemaking, ensuring each release captures the unique terroir of the region. Visitors can enjoy seated tastings in the architecturally designed cellar door, built from sandstone excavated from the property itself. Designed by Cumulus Studio, this inviting space combines natural elements with sweeping views across the valley to kunanyi/Mt Wellington.
Wine tastings are available for $10 per person and feature Caledon’s current range of seven wines, all made with love from fruit grown right outside the door. For those who cannot take their favourite bottles home in person, Caledon offers shipping across Australia.
To fully appreciate the wines in their natural setting, guests are encouraged to stay a little longer and pair their tasting with a cheese platter on weekdays or locally inspired dining on weekends.
